LOVE Global Routes! I went on the Global Routes Ecuador and Galapagos program the summer after my first year of high school. I can honestly say that my trip influenced my life in the most positive of ways--from the food choices I make to what I am studying in college. The leaders were amazingly supportive and handled the group really well. My group was really nice, and my homestay family was super welcoming. I will always remember seeing a blue whale while on a boat in the Galapagos, eating patacones with my host family, and hiking in Otavalo. So grateful for this experience! I would recommend Global Routes 10/10.

My daughter spent 4 weeks in Costa Rica with Global Routes in 2017. She came back home with a lot more maturity and perspective about her life and the world. She really enjoyed the group of teens that went on the trip and her leaders and learned from everyone. It was a rewarding and special experience for her. This was my second experience as a parent with Global Routes. What they don't tell you is how much they keep track of your child. The leaders and Adam knew where every teen was every day. When the kids get into different flights to go home, it doesn't end there. Adam tracks every flight and confirms that every child gets home safely. I would recommend Global Routes without hesitation - both for the experience and for the safety aspect.

Global Routes introduced me to traveling at age 16 and gave me the tools I needed to eventually travel alone. Constantly being challenged through hiking trips, service in rural communities and forming/performing in a group were key in my growth as a person. I wouldnt trade my two summers with global routes (Kenya and Morocco) for anything!

I have been on two Global Routes trips and they have both been amazing! The programs are designed in a way where you can get to know your peers to the point where they become family. You also get to explore the country you're visiting as well as immerse yourself in local culture. Global Routes is an investment that never stops paying off. I have met countless strangers from the places I have visited and conversation is instantly sparked. I have made close friends from the trip who I have kept in contact with for years who I now consider family. And I have a better understanding of countries I started out being a stranger in. My Global Routes experiences were some of the best times of my life, they were summers well spent and I would recommend this program to all types of people. GR gets you out of your comfort zone and into the world, truly a fantastic program.

I went abroad to Ecuador with Global Routes in 2000. Here we are, 18years later and I'm a physician working in global health development. I don't think I would have headed this direction without Global Routes experience, it was just enough supervision but still with independence building. Go for it!
